quintessa noelle taylor
born march 19, 1988, in long port, new jersey to wesley and nadia taylor. quintessa was the second child for the couple, becoming the supremely loathed sibling of older brother matthias. their father, wesley, owned and operated taylor's hardware, while their mother worked as a psychiatrist. quin and matt often spent their days at their grandparent's house while their parents worked, but it was rare that the family ever missed sitting down to a dinner together. three years after quin's birth, her sister tandy was born, followed by the last female addition to the house, lucy, two years later. no matter how much mr. taylor begged and pleaded after that, mrs. taylor was firm in her resolve that if they were going to have any more children, he'd have to carry them himself.
one week after quin's twelfth birthday, she woke up to find that her mother had moved out of their house. although things between her parents had never exactly been ideal, there wasn't a single person in the family who had seen this separation coming. quin's father, though probably the most surprised of all, struggled through the end of his marriage, doing his best to keep positive for his kids. their mother didn't ask for custody of the children, which was probably for the best, because neither quin nor her siblings had much to say to their mother, all of them feeling incredibly abandoned.
quin's mother began seeing someone less than a full year after she moved out, who happened to be one of her patients, unbeknownst to any of her friends and family. on april 11th, 2001, quin's mother was killed by the man that she had been seeing. although things had been tense betwen nadia and her children, both of quin's younger sisters as well as her older brother had begun to speak to her again before her murder. quin was the only one of her siblings not to attend her mother's funeral - something that she still refuses discuss with anybody.
after her mother's death, quin completely shut down. for almost ten full months she refused to step foot outside of the family's house, rarely speaking to anyone aside from her best friend, daria. her father was forced to hire someone to home school quin for the year, which left the family struggling to make ends meet. it was a fight with her older brother that forced quin to pull herself together enough to venture back out into the real world.
in quin's freshman year of high school, things began looking up for quin. since she was a little girl she had dreamed of being an actress, and when she started getting involved in high school drama productions, everything started to feel right. unfortunately, quin had never really dealt with all of her grief properly, so when all of the temptations that came with high school came around, there was no resisting for quin. the partying and drinking became a regular thing, as it does for most teenagers, but quin picked up the bad habit of just taking it a little too far. when everyone else was calling it a night, quin was sneaking an extra shot of tequila. of course, her true theatrical fashion, she did a pretty good job of keeping it all under wraps - from most people.
when high school wrapped up, things had only gone further downhill for quin. her average grades didn't leave much room for college, and when she did her first line of coke at the graduation party, she knew that she wouldn't even be bothering with any more school. for quin, life has become nothing more than excuse to forget the problems that she's never really learned to deal with.
these days quin works at her dad's hardware store, which gets her just enough money to support the habits she doesn't talk about, and also lets her stay at home rent-free. she also volunteers at an afterschool tutoring club for younger kids at the library, which lets her family believe that she's still the normal, bubbly blonde kid that she was a very long time ago. she still gets starry eyed at the idea of running off to hollywood and making it big, but those dreams have been stuffed down pretty deep.

passaroo: the ny yankees, her dad's girlfriend, rum, relationships, everything else about winter, billion hour rides on the train, shopping in the city, republicans, folding laundry, anything other than flip flops, pilates, basketball, game shows, tyra banks
